01/April/2021 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 21-02254 - A Roadside Community family lost their home in an evening fire that destroyed most of the structure Thursday evening 01-April. At 23:08, 9-1-1 received several reports that the home was ablaze. One caller advised the house was fully involved. Engine 13, stationed in Jonesville, arrived several minutes later to find the single story wood frame structure approximately 75% involved. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two handlines and had the bulk of the fire knocked down within 20 minutes. Neighbors advised the occupant may be inside the building. Crews searched the home but did not find a person inside. After several attempts, the man was located via cell phone and was out of town. Firefighters were on the scene for nearly three hours performing overhaul. Approximately half of the structure was destroyed. One bedroom was saved and some personal items were salvaged. Water supply was conducted using Tenders. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

Engine 1, Engine 13, Tender 1, Tender 6, Tender 8, Tender 13, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 6, Medic 13, Battalion 1, Car 101 and Car 112 responded. Captain Matt Parler served as Incident Commander.
