18/April/2021 - Auto Pedestrian MVC - "A" Shift

Incident # 21-02680 - A 47 year old man suffered critical injuries after being struck by a Toyota Rav4 in the 600 block of Bells Hwy., Sunday morning 18-April. The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation by the Walterboro Police Dept. Fire-Rescue was notified of the incident at 03:06 and Firefighter-Paramedics found the man with multiple traumatic injuries lying in the parking lot of Remax Realty. He suffered multiple fractures and a head injury. The local medical helicopter was tied up on another response and was not available. The man was quickly treated at the scene, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston in Fire-Rescue Medic 26. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics were onboard to assist with his care. 

Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 112 and WFD responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
