20/February/2022 - Woods-Vehicle Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 22-01366 - An unattended fire in a burn barrel spread to the grass and woods in the 200 block of Chestnut Rd Sunday afternoon 20-February. At 13:12 the caller reported to 9-1-1  the fire had spread from the burn barrel. Engine 19 arrived minutes later to find a nearby passenger car well involved and a mobile home endangered. Firefighters deployed multiple handlines to protect the exposures, stop the spread of the fire and to extinguish the car. The car was destroyed and the fire melted the vinyl siding on the mobile home, damaged the home's pump and a utility building. The occupant advised she had been burning a cardboard box in the barrel. Firefighters saved the mobile home and utility building. No injuries were reported. 

Engine 19, Brush 27, Battalion 1 anc Car 118 responded. Firefighter-EMT Shane Weber served as Incident Commander.
