Incident # 22-01513 - An adult female perished in a single vehicle MVC in the 7300 block of Jacksonboro Road south of Cottageville Saturday morning 25-February. The accident was reported at 03:23. A 2010 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on Jacksonboro Rd at a high rate of speed and lost control in a curve. The car crossed to the southbound ditch, struck two large trees and overturned. The unrestrained driver suffered multiple traumatic injuries. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes later and found the driver without any signs of life. The Coroner's Office was notified and responded to the scene. Once their investigation was complete, Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro Pentheon Rescue Tools to extricate the driver. She was transported by the Coroner's Office. Units were on the scene for two and half hours. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 9, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Lt. Brian Drew served as Incident Commander.
