09/November/2022 - Auto vs Pedestrian with Air Evac - "B" Shift

Incident # 22-08719 - A 65 year old New York woman was critically injured after she was struck by a car while crossing Cane Branch Road at Cracker Barrel at 17:56 Wednesday afternoon  09-November. A Fire-Rescue unit was on Sniders Hwy when the accident occurred and he was on the scene immediately. The woman was found unconscious in the roadway with multiple traumatic injuries, including a head injury. Firefighter-Paramedics began treating the woman and requested a medical helicopter. She was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics assisted with her care during the transport. The Flightcrew flew her to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the accident. 

Medic 1, Battalion 1, Car 101, Car 112 and WFD responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
