16/March/2024 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift


Incident # 24-02088 - A large storage building was destroyed in an afternoon fire at a residence in the 900 block of Turkey Hill Lane Saturday 16-March. At 15:50, 9-1-1 was notified of a grass fire at the location. Engine 6 and Medic 6 arrived to find an approximately 1/2 acre grass and woods fire, with a large storage building on fire. A structural response was assigned to the incident. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to control the fire. The fire spread from a debris fire in a pit near the storage building. Light winds carried embers from the debris fire to the surrounding grass, which then spread to the storage building. A nearby semi truck and workshop were saved. 


Engine 6, Engine 22, Tender 2, Tender 6, Tender 22, Tender 25, Medic 6, Medic 13, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Firefighter-EMT Aaron Jones served as Incident Commander.
