20/March/2024 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift


Incident # 24-02187 - A residential dwelling was destroyed in an early morning fire at 1183 Tyler Road Wednesday morning 20-March. The home is located on lightly traveled rural road. At 07:19, an off-duty Firefighter passed the residence and called 9-1-1 advising the home was already on the ground. Engine 1 arrived to find the single story, wood frame structure was completely destroyed and collapsed. They canceled other responding units. Firefighters cooled the remaining debris. Apparently, the occupants left the residence about two hours prior. They noted a space heater was on in the home. The cause was most likely the space heater. Fire units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours.
