Alternative Fuel Vehicles

   
NFPA offers an excellent self-paced online training course titled Alternative Fuel Vehicles Training Program for Emergency Responders.  It is free of charge to the U.S. Fire Service but requires that you use your department's NFPA account or create a personal account of your own.  This requires several steps (listed below).

1. Navigate your PC's browser to the following URL:
http://catalog.nfpa.org/Alternative-Fuel-Vehicles-Training-Program-for-Emergency-Responders-Online-Training-P15552.aspx?icid=D533

2. Click "Login to Register"

3. Sign in with existing account (your department's) or "Create a Profile"

4. Create a Profile
4a. Enter email address
4b. Enter password
4c. Click "Save"
4d. Enter Profile Information
4e. Click "Save"

5. After login or or Saving your new profile, the Catalog page for the "Alternative Fuel Vehicles Training Program" will auto load
5a. Your name will be listed as an attendee - Click "+Add to Cart"

6. The "My Cart" page will load listing the class and a zero (0) subtotal - Click "Purchase"

7. The receipt page will load - click on "My Training" - you may have to wait up to 10 minutes for the course to appear on the "My Training" page

8. Click on "Link to Course"

9. A new page will popup from NFPA Blackboard

10. In the "My Courses" area, click on "NFPA's Alternative Fuel Vehicles Training Program OnLine Program"

11. Click on "NFPA Alternative Fuel Vehicles Training" - training starts in a new window - insure your popup blocker is turned off

12. Training course will start in a new window.  It utilizes 3-D graphics, video and is highly interactive.
