Colleton County Fire-Rescue

7/12&13/2008

The Tactical Response Team drilled on the mornings of 7/12 & 7/13/2008 to train on water rescue.  Firefighters used the "steel bridge" landing on the Combahee River at the Beaufort County Line.  Divers found the near pitch black water and strong current to be very challenging.  Drivers of Marine 27 also found the current was too strong to anchor the boat to the river bottom.  The training consisted of divers practicing underwater search patterns while boat drivers practiced both high and low speed maneuvering of Marine 27.
