Station 19 responded to a auto versus pedestrian accident in the 100 block of Keegan Road Friday, 5-December at 1932. An eastbound compact car collided with a 19 year old male near the intersection of Sidneys Road. Bystanders stated the young man was unconscious following the accident. He was found on the ground approximately 20 feet behind the car. The vehicle received damage to the windshield and the driver was not injured. A medical helicopter was called to fly the patient to the Trauma Center at MUSC. Medic 19 transported the man to the Lowcountry Regional Airport to meet with the Lifestar Medical Helicopter, however the helicopter developed mechanical difficulties enroute, forcing it to abort the mission. The patient was then transported to Colleton Medical Center.
 
Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Truck 16 and Truck 110 responded. Captain Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
