Stations 1, 2, 6 and 27 responded to a single car MVC at the intersection of ACE Basin Parkway and Stallings Drive at 3:36 PM Sunday 29-March. The south bound car left the roadway and struck several trees. The vehicle received only moderate damage, but the two teenaged occupants were not wearing seatbelts. Despite the deployment of the airbags, both received severe leg injuries and multiple fractures. One patient had open fractures and severe ankle trauma. A medical helicopter was requested but could not fly due to the high winds. The initial caller reported the girls were trapped, however Medic 6 noted no entrapment and cancelled Rescue. Both patients were transported directly from the scene by Medic 6 to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. One patient was going for surgery shortly after arrival. The SC Highway Patrol is working the accident.

Engine 6, Medic 6, Medic 27, Rescue 1 and Battalion 1 responded. Firefighter Ruben Carter served as Incident Commander.
