Stations 1, 13, 19, and 27 responded to a MVC on I-95 at the 40 mile marker northbound, Saturday, 30-May at 07: 43 hours.  South Carolina Highway Patrol units were on scene from a previous MVC that occurred at 04:08 hours just north of this MVC.  They found a tractor trailer had rear-ended another tractor trailer which rear ended a tour bus.  Reports from the scene were that the tractor trailer in the middle of the collision was transporting Sulfuric Acid.  First arriving units arrived by travelling south in the northbound lanes from Exit 42 and staged approximately one half mile north of the scene.

Units found that the first tractor trailer was transporting cucumbers in a box trailer and though the driver had a small laceration to his foot, he denied treatment and transport.  The second tractor trailer was transporting Sulfuric Acid in a DOT-412 trailer and sustained significant damage to the rear of the trailer from being rear ended and to the front of the tractor from it being pushed into the tour bus.  Despite the significant damage, the trailer was intact and no Sulfuric Acid was leaking.  The driver was uninjured.  The tour bus was transporting multiple persons but only one requested to be checked and denied transport to the ER.

Engine 1, Haz Mat 19, Medic 27, Battalion 1, and Truck 11 responded.  Captain Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
