Colleton County Fire-Rescue

7/11/2009

Stations 5, 11, 17 and 19 responded to a house fire on Lindsey Road near the intersection of Round O Road at 1827, Saturday 11-July. The structure was located near the end of the rural dirt road. It was almost completely destroyed when firefighters arrived, with all four walls and the roof already collapsed. Engine 5 deployed to 1-3/4 handlines. Firefighters controlled a small grass fire that extended from the structure. There was no power to the building and the residence had evidently been vacant for some time. The fire’s origin was listed as suspicious. Sheriff’s Office investigators are working the case and are searching for a vehicle neighbors saw near the scene just prior to the fire.

Engine 5, Engine 19, Tender 5, Tender 19, Tender 27, Medic 9, Battalion 1 and Truck 12 responded. Firefighter-EMT Chuck Moyer served as Incident Commander.
