Colleton County Fire-Rescue
9/4/2009
It is my extreme pleasure to
invite you to the S.C. Fire Academy on September 16, 2009 to observe a
portion of our Helicopter Rescue Technician Class. This premier
class is the final step in a two year process to train and prepare the
first ever S.C. Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, also known as, SC-HART. SC-HART is a collaborative
effort between the State Urban Search and Rescue Task Force (SC-TF1) under
the direction of S.C. LLR, Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Army
National Guard Aviation Unit based at McEntire. This program will
provide this state with professional rescuers from SC-TF1 and
highly-trained pilots and crew members from the Army National Guard and
make them a cohesive unit capable of performing helicopter rescue using
the UH-60 Blackhawk. On September 16, we will be
performing land-based, rescue operations on the Fire Academy grounds.
Please come join us for a program briefing and a aviation rescue
demonstration so you can get a “sneak peak” at this program as it
develops into a well-needed state asset. When:
Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Where:
Urban Search and Rescue Head Quarters (Building #22) Located
at the S.C. Fire Academy, 141 Monticello Trail, Columbia SC
