Station 27 and Battalion 1
assisted the City of Walterboro Public Safety with a well involved house
fire at 211 Blanchard Street Monday evening at 1943. Walterboro Engine 1
and County units Medic 27, Battalion 1 and Truck 11 arrived at the same
time to find heavy fire conditions with the front of the single story
residential dwelling well involved. County and City personnel made a
quick knock down with one 1-3/4 handline. Crews then entered the
structure through the front door and extinguished the fire in the front
room of the building. Firefighters had the fire under control in less
than 10 minutes, saving the structure. Crews remained on the scene for a
little over an hour. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the
City. It was a very good coordinated effort by both departments. Walterboro Engine 1, Engine 2
and Engine 3 responded. County Medic 27, Battalion 1 and Truck 11
responded. Walterboro Public Safety Assistant Chief Ken Dason served as
Incident Commander. |
