Fourteen Colleton County firefighters tested for the 1152 Basic Firefighter Exam held at the Summerville Burn Building in Summerville, Saturday 19, Sept 09. The students in the Course came from Colleton, Beaufort, Charleston and Bamberg Counties, representing five fire departments. The Course was taught over the last six weeks at Station # 19 north of Walterboro. The 1152 Course provides basic training in several firefighting skills which include Fire Streams, Hose, SCBA, Fire attack and ladders. Students participated in a live burn during the testing period.
