Stations 1, 6, 12, 19 and 27 responded to a two car MVC with entrapment on Charleston Hwy at Featherbed Road at 05:37, Wednesday 28-October. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, causing a small car to travel into the Aimwell Presbyterian Church parking lot. The car received heavy damage to the driver’s side, trapping the driver. She received multiple, non-life threatening injuries. The two occupants in the other vehicle received minor injuries. Crews began treatment on the woman while she was in the vehicle. Other firefighters used Holmatro Hydraulic Rescue Tools to remove both driver’s side doors and hydraulic cutters to remove the “B” post. The woman was extricated on to a long spine board, immobilized and transported by Medic 6 to Colleton Medical Center. Medic 27 transported the other two patients to CMC as well. Engine 19 used a booster line to clean debris from the roadway and the church parking area. Units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours.

Engine 19, Medic 6, Medic 27, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Truck 110 responded. Firefighter-EMT Bryon Martinson served as Incident Commander.
