Stations 1, 19, 26 and 27 responded to an apartment fire at 156 Kimbrell Street (Meadow Creek Apartments) at 1515 Friday 6-November. Captain Feather in Truck 11 was first on the scene within one minute of the dispatch, reporting moderate smoke coming from the building, with a working fire in a down stairs utility room. Engine 26 arrived shortly thereafter, laying a 5 inch supply line and deploying one 1-3/4 handline. Interior crews quickly knocked down the fire which was contained to the utility room. The fire originated in an electric clothes dryer, which spread to clothing, other items in the room and the washer. Both floors of the apartment were filled with smoke. Firefighters used a PPV fans to force the smoke from the building. Firefighters removed the damaged appliances from the utility room, then cut an inspection hole in the wall and used thermal imagers to verify the fire had no extension. Units were on the scene for approximately one hour.

Engine 19, Engine 26, Tender 19, Tender 1, Squad 27, Battalion 1, Truck 11, Truck 12 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Sterling Wright served as Incident Commander.
