Stations 5, 7, 17 and 26 responded to a structure fire at 597 Bent Gate Lane at 0341, Saturday morning 9-January. Engine 17 reported the building was completely destroyed on their arrival and a small woods fire was burning as a result of the building fire. The fire had obviously been burning for quite some time before it was discovered. Engine 17 deployed an 1-3/4 handline to extinguish the remaining debris, while Engine 5 was directed to handle the woods fire. The building was apparently used as some sort of work shop. It appeared to have a wood burning stove in the center of the structure. Crews had the fires under control in about 15 minutes, but were on the scene for 2 hours. No one was at the building and neighbors did not offer any information regarding the fire.

Engine 5, Engine 17, Tender 5. Tender 7, Tender 17, Tender 26, Medic 26 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
