Stations 7 and 26 responded to a single vehicle MVC on Johnsville Road near Fralix Road at 1607, Wednesday afternoon 10-Febraury. The northbound 1997 Buick Riviera left the roadway at a high rate of speed, over corrected and lost control. The car entered a ditch, rolled over eight times, ejecting the driver into a field. Bystanders told Firefighter-Paramedics the man was unconscious following the crash. He is suspected of suffering multiple traumatic injuries. Medic # 26’s crews treated the man at the scene and called for a medical helicopter to transport the victim to MUSC. Lifenet 3 flew to the scene, continued his care and transported him to the Charleston Area Trauma Center.

Firefighters controlled a gasoline leak on the overturned vehicle and provided traffic control. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 7, Medic 26 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain John Graham served as Incident Commander.
