Stations 6, 8, 22 and 25 responded to an approximately 200 acre woods fire in the large wooded area between the White Hall, Clover Hill and Pynes Communities on Tuesday, 9-March at 1546. The fire which may have been intentionally set had several points of origins. High winds quickly carried the flames in a northerly direction endangering multiple homes in the Pynes Community and off of Clover Hill Road. Fire units stood by at several residents protecting the homes while five forestry tractors plowed fire breaks at the direction of Regional Forest Ranger Mike Crosby. A Forestry Plane also assisted with aerial surveillance. Fire units were on the scene for five hours, while Forestry units and several private tractors with plows continued to work the fire through the night and the next day. No homes were damaged and no injuries were reported.

Engine 6, Engine 8, Engine 22, Engine 25, Tender 6, Medic 6 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb was in command of Fire-Rescue units assisting State Forester Calvin Bailey who served as Incident Commander.
