Colleton County Fire-Rescue

3/11/2010

Stations 1, 26 and 27 responded to a two vehicle MVC on McLeod Road at the I-95 interchange Thursday afternoon 11-March at 1552. A Subaru Outback pulled into the path of a west bound Dodge pickup truck and was struck in the driver’s door, causing the small car to flip onto its roof. Both occupants of the outback suffered multiple traumatic injuries. No one in the pickup truck was hurt. Firefighter-Paramedics treated both patients at the scene. No medical helicopters could fly due to poor weather conditions. Both patients were transported to Colleton Medical Center and the female was later transferred by ambulance to the Trauma Center at MUSC. Traffic on McLeod Road was stopped in both directions for about 30 minutes.

Engine 26, Rescue 1, Medic 27 and Truck 116 responded. Battalion Chief Marty Stallings served as Incident Commander.
