Colleton County Fire-Rescue

5/19/2010

Colleton Medical Center honored Fire-Rescue and the private ambulance services during national EMS Week. The hospital set up a tent behind their facility on Robertson Blvd Wednesday to serve lunch to the personnel. The dinner was to recognize the pre-hospital providers and ambulance service personnel in the County. The ED nurses decorated the tent and the Cafeteria staff prepared a wonderful meal and dessert. Lifenet Helicopter Service also provided a cake. Mitch Mongel, the Hospital Administrator, attended and ate with the crews. Fire-Rescue, American Heritage Ambulance Service, Personal Care Ambulance Service and Lifenet Helicopter Service were present. Christy Judy (ED Director) and Kelly Hudson (Assistant Director) served food while Debra Drew from risk management prepared beverages. One of the hospital’s Chefs prepared the meal and carved the roast. The crews were joined by several hospital staffers, doctors and nurses.

National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services to the community. It runs from May 16 to May 22.
