Stations 1, 19, 24 and 26 responded to a structure fire at 156 Kimbrell Street at the Meadow Creek Apartment Complex, Sunday morning 13-June at 1055. First arriving units found light smoke coming the apartment on the “B” side of the affected building. Upon inspection, it was determined the fire was out. The resident had been cooking breakfast, when a grease fire ignited on the stove. The flames extended to the cabinets, before they was extinguished by an automated fire suppression system in the hood above the stove. Firefighters physically inspected with area around the cabinets and used thermal imaging equipment, but found no extension in the walls or ceiling. A PPV fan was used to evacuate the smoke from the building. All occupants were able to safely exit the structure. Damage to the building was minimal. Engine 1, Engine 19, Engine 16, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander. |
