“C” Shift – SWAT Training at Station 6
On Wednesday, July 28th, the CCSO utilized station 6 to conduct SWAT training. The dynamics and the layout of the station presented many challenges to the officers. Station 6 is the only two story fire station in Colleton County and offers several rooms, closets with large and smaller rooms as well as two separate apparatus bays for a “suspect” to hide from pursuing officers. The on duty crew, FF/EMT Joseph Holmes and FF/Paramedic Jon Ryan assisted by playing the part of the suspects the officers were pursuing. The K-9 unit was also put into play but trained police officers wearing protective gear filled the role of the fleeing suspect during these scenarios.
