“C” Shift

Run # 10-04201 - Stations 5, 9, 19 and 26 responded to two mobile homes and a work shop on fire at 381 Cardinal Lane at 1111 Saturday morning 31-July. The fire is believed to have been intentional set. It is unclear if both mobile homes were set or if the fire spread to the second structure. The work shop was located behind the second mobile home and received extensive damage. Callers to 9-1-1 reported a man had ignited a fire in one of the mobile homes. The Sheriff’s Office dispatcher advised responding firefighters there was a possibility the man may be armed and had a history of violence.  Firefighters had to standby on Augusta Highway until a Deputy arrived to clear the scene. Both singlewide mobile homes had burned completely to the frames when fire units arrived. The work shop was well involved. Crews worked for about 20 minutes with two 1-3/4 handlines to control the blaze. Over haul took about an hour. A small woods fire also resulted from the structure fires. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Engine 5, Engine 9, Tender 5, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 9, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Firefighter-EMT Marshal Murdaugh served as Incident Commander.
