“A” & “B” Shifts – GSW and MVC with Air Evacuations Incident Number 10-0623 - “A” Shift - For the second time in less than 20 hours Omniflight-Charleston responded to Colleton County to fly a patient to MUSC’s Trauma Center. In the first incident which occurred Wednesday evening 17-November at 1932, an adult male fell approximately 40 feet from a tree stand in the 200 block of Hobby Lane receiving traumatic injuries in the fall. Additionally, his gun discharged striking his foot causing extensive damage. The man crawled from the wooded area to summons assistance. Medic 19 and Engine 19 responded to the scene and treated the man. He was transported to a nearby field to meet with the Medical Helicopter. |

Incident Number 10-06267 - “B” Shift - In the second incident which occurred Thursday afternoon at 1518, a pickup truck pulled from Industrial Road into the path of a southbound motorcycle traveling on Sidneys Road. The motorcycle struck the pickup truck head-on causing heavy damage to both vehicles. The male driver of the motorcycle suffered multiple traumatic injuries. Medic 19 and Engine 19 responded, treated the man, then transported him to the Lowcountry Regional Airport to meet with the Omniflight Helicopter. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. | |
