02/04/2011 – “A” Shift – Medical Emergency with Air Evacuation

Incident # 11-00663 – Medic 19 requested a medical helicopter for a patient suffering from a critical medical emergency Thursday afternoon 04-Februaury at 13:10. The Sidneys Road patient suffered a sudden onset of symptoms and was transported to the Lowcountry Regional Airport to meet with the Omniflight-Charleston helicopter. He was treated at the scene and while waiting at the airport by Firefighter-Paramedics before being flown to the Stroke Center at MUSC in Charleston.   

Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
