Colleton County Fire-Rescue

2/13/2011

Firefighter-Paramedic Hank Williamson suffered an on the job injury yesterday (12-February) while assigned to Medic 18. He was at Colleton Medical Center when the injury occurred and was briefly treated at the ED and then transported by Medic 26 to the Trauma Center at MUSC. He underwent approximately eight hours of surgery and stayed several hours in ICU. This afternoon (Sunday) he was moved to Room # 766 at MUSC and can have visitors during regular hours. He is presently medicated but does wake up and joke around with the many visitors. He is expected to be in MUSC at least through Wednesday, but may remain longer depending on his condition and/or improvement. Following his discharge he will have an extended recovery.

Firefighter-Paramedic David Drawdy has made tentative arrangements to get his wife CiCi to and from MUSC each day. As many of you are aware, she does not drive. If anyone from Colleton County is travelling or returning from MUSC/Charleston Area and may be able to pick her up in Cottageville or return her home in the evenings, please contact headquarters in the event the current transportation plans fall through.

He is healthy and strong. Hank is a determined individual so he should make a rapid recovery. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. If you are in the Charleston Area I am sure he would be glad to have your company.  Take the “E” elevators off of the main lobby at MUSC to the seventh floor. His room is just off of the seventh floor waiting area.
