03/20/2011 – “C” Shift – Structure Fire Incident # 11-01600 – A vacant Jordan Lane structure received heavy fire damage during an incident north of the Town of Smoaks Sunday morning, 20-March at 01:08. The fire was received simultaneously with a house fire on the other side of the county near Cottageville. Engine 18 arrived to find fire visible in an addition which had spread inside of the older model singlewide mobile home. Firefighters deployed two 1-3/4 handlines and quickly knocked down the fire. Overhaul took about an hour. The home had a wooden addition to the front of the trailer. The fire appears to have started in the addition. The interior of the mobile home suffered moderate damage. Units were on the scene for two hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Engine 18, Engine 26, Tender 5, Tender 7, Tender 17, Tender 18, Tender 23, Tender 26, Medic 18, Medic 26, Car 12 and Car 119 responded. Captain Joseph Campbell served as Incident Commander. |
