04/22/2011 – “A” Shift – MVC with multiple injuries Incident # 11-02260 – A two vehicle high speed MVC injured five people Friday evening. The accident occurred in the 2100 block of Charleston Highway in front of the First Assembly of God Church 22-April at 19:28. A small car turned into the path of a Ford Pickup truck resulting in heavy damage to the car. The main impact was on the front passenger door. A mother and child were injured in the car, while three people in the pickup truck received minor injuries. None of the injuries were life threatening, despite the heavy damage to the vehicles. All five patients were treated at the scene, then transported to Colleton Medical Center. Traffic on Charleston Highway was blocked for about an hour until the vehicles were removed. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Engine 19, Medic 19, Medic 1, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
