04/27/2011 – “B” shift – Structure Fire

Incident # 11-02355 – An early morning fire in the 200 block of Hickory Hill Road completely destroyed a home on the property. The incident occurred Wednesday morning 27-April at 06:46. Engine 6 arrived within 6 minutes to  find the single story wood frame structure well involved. The fire had been burning for some time before it was reported. Firefighters used a deck gun knock down the fire, then deployed two handlines to perform overhaul. The roof of the building had already collapsed and most of the structure was burned away. Firefighters spent about 40 minutes performing overhaul and remained on the scene for 2-1/2 hours. The building had no power connected. Investigators believe the fire was initially set. The Sheriff’s Office was on the scene. Engine 2, Engine 6, Tender 2, Tender 6, Tender 12, Tender 27, Medic 6, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter II-Paramedic Michelle Bryan served as Incident Commander.
