05/11/2011 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 11-02628 – A suspicious fire is being investigated following a response to 448 Deloach Ave Wednesday morning 11-May, at 0624. Fire units were called to the scene after a passerby reported smoke coming from the residence. Engine 1 arrived to find light smoke showing from the front and rear of the structure. One 1-3/4 handline was deployed to enter the building, however most of the fires were extinguished with a water extinguisher. The building which was in the final stages of being remodeled, suffered minor structural damage and smoke damage throughout. There was minor fire damage in several rooms of the building. Fire investigators contacted the SLED Arson Unit to assist with the investigation. Law Enforcement already has several suspects concerning the incident. Units were on the scene for several hours.

Engine 1, Engine 19, Tender 1, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 1, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
