06/23/2011 – MVC with reported ejection – “C” Shift

Incident # 11-03451 - Law Enforcement is trying to determine the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle MVC in the 400 block of Mount Carmel Road Thursday morning 23-June. Engine and Medic 26  were dispatched to the location at 08:00 reporting a vehicle accident with a person ejected from the car. They arrived to find an adult male bleeding, lying in the center of Mount Carmel Road. The man was not cooperative with rescuers, but advised he had been run over by the truck. The Chevrolet pickup truck was in the ditch approximately 150 feet north of where the man was found. The transmission on the vehicle was in reverse. Blood was found inside the pick-up truck, indicating he may have been injured prior to ending up on the roadway. He was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries, then transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 26.

Engine 26, Medic 26, Car 12 and Car 110 responded. Firefighter-EMT-I Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
