06/26/2011 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 11-0523 – Firefighters responded to a storage building fire behind 3512 Bells Highway Sunday evening 26-June at 23:00. Car 118 arrived to find a fully involved 16’x24’ storage building with a nearby barn endangered. Engine 26 arrived minutes later, deploying one 1-3/4 hand line. Crews removed several pieces of small machinery and air conditioners from the building to conduct overhaul. Crews protected the nearby barn with a second line. It was not damaged. The buildings were part of a deer processing operation on the property. No one was injured during the incident, however the storage building was a total loss. Units were on the scene for a little over an hour.

Engine 1, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 4, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
