08/24/2011 – MVC with Ejection – “B” Shift

Incident # 11-04630 – A high speed single car MVC in the 3500 block of McLeod Road resulted in the ejection of the teenaged driver. The small KIA Sorento left the roadway and struck a tree. The passenger was wearing a seatbelt and suffered only minor injuries. The driver was ejected into the ditch, receiving a suspected head injury. He advised he was unconscious for a short period following the crash. He was ambulatory at the scene when emergency crews arrived. Firefighter-Paramedics treated both occupants and transported them to Colleton Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
