10/29/2011 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 11-05814 – A late evening house fire gutted a singlewide mobile home and sent one person to the hospital. The incident occurred at 58 Eddie Lane in the Green Pond Community, Saturday evening 29-October at 23:28. Engine 6 and Medic 6 arrived minutes after the dispatch to find a fire showing from the “A”, “D” and “C” sides of the structure. Firefighters deployed one 1-3/4 handline, making an exterior attack on the building. As additional personnel arrived, firefighters entered the building to completely extinguish the fire. A 56 male complained of smoke inhalation and other medical complaints. He was evaluated at the scene by firefighter-Paramedics, then transported by Medic 6 in stable condition to Colleton Medical Center. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Units were on the scene for 2-1/2 hours
