11/04/2011 – Traumatic injury with Air Evacuation – “B” Shift

Incident # 11-05892 – An adult male suffered a head injury after falling from a moving 4-wheeler, Friday afternoon 4-November at 12:02. The man fell striking his head and according to witnesses he was unconscious for a short period of time. He was evaluated by Firefighter-Paramedics on Medic 6, who decided to fly him to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The man was immobilized at the scene, then transported to the baseball field at the Neyles Community Center to meet with Air Methods/Omniflight Charleston 7 helicopter. He was flown without incident to the Trauma Center.

Engine 6, Medic 6, and Battalion 1 responded. Lt. Brian Drew served as Incident Commander, while Firefighter-Paramedic (Acting Battalion Chief) Steven Scurry coordinated the landing zone.
