12/22/2011 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 11-06696 - Fire-Rescue responded to a well involved dwelling fire Thursday morning 22-December at 03:11. 9-1-1 Operators were notified of the fire at 203 Seigler Drive by a neighbor. Engine 19 arrived four minutes later to find the 2500 square foot single story home fully involved. The roof had already burned off of the building and the entire interior was ablaze. Neighbors advised firefighters that the home was not occupied, however crewmembers found the power was still connected to the residence. They deployed multiple handlines to combat the fire and had it under control in about 25 minutes. Units remained on the scene performing overhaul for four hours. Fire investigators found evidence indicating the cause to be suspicious in nature. The Sheriff’s Office and the SLED Arson Unit were notified. Each agency responded personnel to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Engine 19, Engine 24, Tender 1, Tender 9, Tender 19, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Captain Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
