01/15/2012 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 12-00293 – At 14:15, a call was received from a resident in the 500 block of Straw Pond Road, reporting flames in a home behind her house. She reported a home was fully involved. Firefighters arrived at 190 Thor Court ten minutes later to find the singlewide mobile home, the attached wooden addition and two vehicles fully involved. The fire had been burning for some time. The entire mobile home and the addition were already on the ground with no portion of the dwelling left standing. Twenty six firefighters were on the scene for over two hours. Multiple handlines and a deck gun were used to extinguish the fire. The occupants were at church when the fire occurred and lost most of their belongings. The Charleston Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Engine 7, Engine 18, Engine 23, Tender 7, Tender 18, Tender 23, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 118 and Car 119 responded. Lt. Joseph Campbell served as Incident Commander.
