03/16/2012 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift Incident # 12-01439 – An early morning house fire has displaced a Smoaks family. At 03:24, Fire-Rescue was notified of the fire in a home located at 14066 Mount Carmel Road. Engine 7 arrived minutes later to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the doublewide mobile home. A 2-1/2” and two 1-3/4” handlines were deployed to the building which was approximately 40% involved. Firefighters stopped the spread of the fire, but much of the home was already damaged. The family noted they were awakened by smoke detectors in the residence. Fire investigators have determined the fire originated in a clothes dryer. No one was injured. Units were on the scene for four hours. Engine 7, Engine 18, Tender 4, Tender 7, Tender 17, Tender 26, Medic 18, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded.
