28/October/2012 – Traumatic Injuries w/Air Evacuation – “C” Shift

Incident # 12-05892 - A 49 year old female received multiple traumatic injuries, including a head injury after she reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle in the 8100 block of Jacksonboro Road in the Town of Cottageville, Sunday morning 28-October at 00:57. The woman was able to make her way to a residence near the accident site to request assistance. Firefighter-Paramedics found her with traumatic injuries and requested a medical helicopter. Medic 9 treated her at the scene, then transported her a field at the Cottageville Elementary School on Peirce Road to meet with LifeNet 4. She was transferred to the helicopter crew without incident, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Law Enforcement continues to investigate the incident.

Engine 9, Engine 19, Medic 9, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Lt. Andy Sahlmann served as Incident Commander.
