03/November/2012 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 12-06036 – A late evening residential fire destroyed a home at 31 Sweetheart Lane Saturday night 03-November. At 21:59, a neighbor reported hearing loud noises outside her residence. Upon investigation, she found the nearby structure on fire. Engine 19 arrived to find the singlewide mobile home 75% involved. The structure had a 12x12 attached addition and wooden rear porch. Firefighters deployed two 1-3/4 handlines, bringing the fire under control within 15 minutes. Crews spent nearly an hour overhauling the fire. The structure was completely gutted, with the addition and porch being destroyed. Water supply was conducted with the use of Tenders. The family lost all of their belongings. No one was at home when the fire was discovered and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire in under investigation, but appears to have started in the area of the back porch.

Engine 5, Engine 19, Tender 5, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 9 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
