26/November/2012 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 12-06462 – A mobile home located at 23560 Augusta Highway received heavy damage in a late night fire Monday evening 26-November at 22:51. Engine 11 arrived to find heavy smoke conditions and fire coming from the windows on the “B” side of the singlewide mobile home. Crews deployed one 1-3/4 handline and quickly knocked down the fire containing it to the master bedroom. The remainder of the home was saved, but suffered heat and smoke damage. The fire reportedly started from a candle burning, which ignited the bed coverings. An adult female was in the bed and was awakened by the home’s smoke alarms at about the same time as her husband returned home. He assisted her from the residence and notified 9-1-1. The woman received smoke inhalation, but denied ambulance transportation to the hospital. Fire units were on the scene for several hours.

Engine 9, Engine 11, Engine 19, Tender 9, Tender 902, Tender 19, Medic 9, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander
