30/January/2013 – Double Shooting Incident – “B” Shift

Incident # 13-00573 - One man was critically injured and another received a non-life threatening injury in a double shooting incident that occurred at 1008 Proctor Street, the Chase Lounge, Wednesday evening 30-January. 9-1-1 Operators received the report at 21:43 advising of two people being shot in the parking lot of the local establishment. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived within minutes, clearing the scene for Firefighter-Paramedics to enter. Two Fire-Rescue Ambulances responded. Both men were found lying in the parking lot. A 22 year old male received multiple gunshot injuries to the upper body, suffering life threatening traumatic injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly treated the man and requested a medical helicopter. He was moved to Medic 1, but the medical helicopter could not fly due to severe weather in the area. Medic 1 then rapidly transported him 50 miles to Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston where he was in critical condition. The second man, a 23 year old, was shot once in the shoulder. He was treated at the scene by Medic 19, then transported to Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.

 The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12, Car 105, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
