Colleton County Fire-Rescue

01-March-2013 / Dr. Seuss Presentation

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Forest Hills Elementary School held a Dr. Seuss Day, where public officials read Dr. Seuss books to the children in various class rooms. Fire-Rescue presented to the first and second grades in the auditorium, projecting the “Cat in the Hat” on a large screen. Battalion Chief Joey Campbell began reading the story and was then assisted by Patches, the Fire-Rescue robotic fire dog, operated by Fire Marshal Richard Sheffield. The two took turns reading to the children and then conducted a Fire Safety discussion at the end of the reading. The kids enjoyed interacting with Patches. Medic 26’s crew assisted as well.
