09/March/2013 – Emergency Services Softball Tournament

The 2nd Annual Emergency Services Softball Tournament was held Saturday 09-March-2013 at the Colleton County Recreation Center.  Nine teams competed in the all day tournament.  A total of $2,510.00 was raised, which is to be split between the Carolina Children's Charity and the MUSC's Burned Children's Fund.  Burton Fire District took the tournament championship with the reigning champions Hampton County Fire-Rescue finishing as the runner-up.  Other teams that participated were:  Ashley River Fire District, City of Charleston Fire Department, Goose Creek City Fire Department, Jasper County Fire-Rescue, two teams from Summerville Police Department and Colleton County Fire-Rescue.

The event was coordinated by Lt. Brian Drew and Firefighter-EMT Robert McAlhaney. We are grateful to the Colleton County Recreation Center for the use of the new baseball fields and all of the agencies who participated for this worthy cause.
