Incident # 13-02575 – A Jacksonboro family lost their home in an early morning fire Wednesday, 15-May. Two men narrowly escaped the burning building when they were awakened by what they described as the loud sound like that of an explosion. One man jumped from a window to escape the flames. Firefighters arrived a short time later to find the home approximately 75% involved with the roof already collapsed, indicating it had been burning for some time. Crews used multiple handlines to combat the fire in the single story block building. A second alarm was issued shortly after arrival for additional Tenders and personnel. The home was completely destroyed. Firefighter-Paramedics treated one man at the scene, then transported him in stable condition to Colleton Medical Center for further treatment.
