13/June/2013 – Water Rescue – “C” Shift

Incident # 13-03148 – At 07:32 Thursday 13-June, Fire-Rescue was notified of a vehicle submerged in the Combahee River off of ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) at the County Line. Station 6 and divers responded to the scene. Engine 6 arrived to find a vehicle in the river, partially submerged approximately 100 yards from the Steel Bridge Landing in Beaufort County. Sheldon Fire Department, Beaufort EMS, Beaufort Sheriff’s Office, SC Wildlife Officers and SC Highway Patrol also responded. Marine 27 with divers were already enroute in the scene. Sheldon Chief Jones requested that Marine 27 continue to the scene. After arrival the boat was launched and the crew examined the car. No occupants were inside the vehicle and the divers were not required.

Engine 6, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Squad 27, Marine 27 and Car 105 responded. Sheldon Fire Chief Buddy Jones served as Incident Commander.
