22/July/2013 – Burn Patient with Air Evacuation – “A”
Shift Incident 3 13-03985 – A seven year old girl received
life threatening burns after another child accidently knocked a pot of
boiling water on her at a residence on Woodmeadow Drive. The accident
occurred Monday evening 22-July at 20:38 in the 400 block of Woodmeadow
Drive. Firefighter-Paramedics found the child with first, second and
third degree burns and requested a medical helicopter. She was quickly
treated at the scene, then rapidly transported to the helipad at
Colleton Medical Center. The LifeNet 4 flight crew, stationed at the
hospital, was standing by when the ambulance arrived. The girl was
transferred to the flight crew without difficulty and flown to the
Pediatric Burn Center at MUSC in Charleston. Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded.
